Join the cavalis product team
At cavalis we believe the next generation of enterprise software will be agentic, meaning AI systems that don't just analyze data but act on it. We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our product team and help us build the platform underneath it.
You'll write production code that ships to real customers and you'll investigate enhanced system architectures as we evolve the platform. The team is small, the cycles are short, and the bar is simple: we build what the customer actually needs.
About us
cavalis is a software company and boutique consultancy headquartered in Munich, founded by former Celonis leaders. Our mission is to build the Data Intelligence Factory of the future, combining process mining DNA with modern AI to deliver outcomes that actually move the needle for our customers.
The product & development team is small, ambitious, and moves extremely fast. We're betting big on agentic AI and want people who want to bet with us.
Why cavalis
- Ownership from day one: take features from idea to production and see your code run in front of real users.
- Real impact: join a small, young, motivated team where your ideas land directly on the roadmap.
- Full-stack exposure: touch the whole system — architecture, backend, data pipelines and the AI layer on top.
- Modern stack: use the newest tools, models and frameworks, with the freedom to experiment.
- Learn fast: work alongside founders and engineers building the future of process intelligence.
The role
You'll work side-by-side with the product team, designing and building the software that powers our agentic AI product. Expect to move between feature work, refactoring, and shipping to production, with plenty of room to shape how things get built. You'll own real pieces of the codebase, review and get reviewed, and watch what you write turn into measurable impact for customers.
What you will do
- Build features end to end. Design, implement and ship functionality across our application — backend services, APIs, data flows and the interfaces on top.
- Write code that lasts. Contribute clean, tested, maintainable code, and help keep the codebase healthy as it grows.
- Advance the product. Help expand, refine and scale our application, turning raw data into actionable insight for our users.
- Integrate the AI layer. Wire up LLM- and agent-driven capabilities on top of our application architecture so the product can act, not just analyze.
- Drive internal automation. Spot operational bottlenecks in how we work and build tooling to automate them away.
- Iterate fast. Ship, learn, refine, repeat! Bring your own ideas. We hire interns to contribute, not to watch.
Qualifications you need
- Excellent academic results and currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Informatics, Engineering or a comparable field.
- Strong hands-on software engineering skills in Python (and ideally one more language), comfortable with SQL, Git/GitHub and standard development workflows. Additional experience with cloud platforms (GCP), containers, CI/CD, web frameworks, or LLM APIs (Claude, Gemini) and agent frameworks (e.g. Google ADK) is highly welcomed.
- Solid fundamentals: you care about clean code, testing, and building things that work reliably.
- Genuine curiosity about software and where the frontier is moving. You read, follow releases, build side projects.
- A maker mindset: you like getting hands on a problem early and refining your work through iteration.
Ready to build? If you want to spend 6 months writing real software alongside a small team that moves fast and obsesses over customer impact, apply.
