Join the cavalis product team
At cavalis we believe the next generation of enterprise software will be agentic, meaning AI systems that don't just analyze data but act on it. We're looking for an Intern in Forward Deployed AI Engineering to join our product team and help us build it.
You'll help build our agentic AI product and ship it with the customers who use it. The team is small, the cycles are short, and the bar is simple: we build what the customer actually needs.
About us
cavalis is a software company and boutique consultancy headquartered in Munich, founded by former Celonis leaders. Our mission is to build the Data Intelligence Factory of the future, combining process mining DNA with modern AI to deliver outcomes that actually move the needle for our customers.
The product team is small, ambitious, and moves extremely fast. We're betting big on agentic AI and want people who want to bet with us.
Why cavalis
- Product ownership: Autonomously build, ship, and iterate on features from conception to deployment.
- Join a small, young, motivated team where your ideas land directly on the roadmap.
- Get exposure to the full loop: architecture, development, customer deployment.
- Use the newest tools, models and AI frameworks, with the freedom to experiment.
- Learn from founders and engineers building the future of process intelligence.
The role
You'll work inside the product team, designing, building and deploying our agentic AI product. Expect to switch between deep development sprints, customer conversations, and on-site deployment work. You'll see the full loop from “customer needs X” to “X delivers measurable impact for the customer”, and you'll help close it.
What you will do
- Build agentic AI. Help design and deploy an agentic AI layer on top of our existing application architecture, enabling autonomous, intelligent value detection and workflows.
- Advance the product. Contribute to the expansion, refinement and scaling of our product mining application, surfacing actionable insights for our users.
- Deploy with customers. Roll out and customize the product at customer sites, adapting it to their data, processes and goals.
- Stay close to the user. Talk to customers to understand what they actually need, then translate that into a product.
- Drive internal automation. Spot operational bottlenecks in how we work and use AI to automate them away.
- Develop new use cases. Expand what our product can do.
- Iterate fast. Ship, learn, refine, repeat! Bring your own ideas. We hire interns to contribute, not to watch.
Qualifications you need
- Excellent academic results and currently enrolled in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering or a comparable field.
- Strong hands-on skills in Python and SQL, comfortable working in Git/GitHub. Bonus points if you've worked with LLM APIs (Claude, Gemini), agent frameworks (e.g. Google ADK), Celonis or GCP.
- Genuine curiosity about agentic AI and where the frontier is moving. You read papers, follow releases, build side projects.
- Comfortable talking to customers in German and English.
- A maker mindset: you like getting hands on a problem early and refining your work through iteration.
